This was my first time trying a sublimation hack on cotton! I followed the directions included in the package to the letter and the only issue I ran into was that I had to re-press the clear HTV about 3 times to get it to stick to the sweatshirt because the film was not staying on the shirt. . It took some elbow grease to peel the carrier sheet off too (the directions did not specify if this is a hot or cold peel). I did finally manage to pull it off with leaving the film on the shirt. I then printed my sublimation transfer as normal and lined it up as best I could to match up with the outline of the HTV cut. I did a pretty good job but was still off a smidgen! It still turned out better than I expected - the colors are very vibrant and the hand is not too thick, although I can tell that there is vinyl sitting on top. I also like the fact that this HTV has a matte finish. I will need some time to send it through the wash and see if the color remains! I do expect a little fading on the edges where the HTV and transfer didn't quite match up. I will definitely buy more of this HTV and hope that A-SUB will formulate one that will work on darker fabrics and also in a larger size (up to 24" wide).
Still testing out
